Oksana Maiarchuk

The artist is from Horlivka, Ukraine. Currently, she temporarily lives in Santander, Spain.

After graduating from the National University "Odesa Law Academy" in 2011 with a degree in Law, Oksana worked in the legal field. However, in 2013, she felt the urge to create and decided to find herself in the field of art.

In 2018, Oksana discovered the world of collage. With each new collage, she discovered new opportunities for self-expression and creativity.

In 2019, Oksana decided to deepen her knowledge in this field and took the course "Collage Paper", which was conducted by collage artist Yevheniia

Matiushko as part of the Yalanzhi Education project.

Since March 2024, Oksana Maiarchuk has been a resident of the CUTOUT COLLAGE art project.

COLLAGE
ARTIST STATEMENT

For me, collage is about a set of emotions, thoughts, feelings, perceptions and context.

I like the process of creating a collage – it's like a light and interesting game where there are no rules and restrictions, you are guided only by your imagination. Color, aroma, sound, touch, a ray of sunshine, an overheard phrase of strangers – you can never guess what will become a reason for reflection and an inspirational impetus for creating a collage.
