ART KYIV FAIR

In May 2026, the CUTOUT COLLAGE art project took part in the season’s premier art event—the Art Kyiv Fair—presenting a large-scale exhibition at the Lavra Art Gallery. CUTOUT showcased works by its residents and an international collection featuring artists from France, Canada, the U.S., Spain, Italy, and other countries. The main concept behind our participation was to present contemporary collage as a fully-fledged exhibition art form, as well as to introduce viewers and potential buyers to our ambitious vision – to create Ukraine’s first full-fledged museum of collage.

Throughout the fair, CUTOUT created an active discussion and educational space. In particular, curators Annete Sagal and Katya Syta led a collage workshop titled “Triangles” and organized a professional discussion titled “Creating a Museum in Contemporary Ukraine,” which was joined by Iuriy Komelkov, director of the Avant-Garde Museum in Kyiv. The discussion focused on the challenges and prospects for the development of new cultural institutions in difficult times.

In addition, Annete and Katya hosted live streams directly from the venue, chatting with fellow artists and gallery owners and giving the audience a feel for the fair’s atmosphere. Recordings of these streams are still available to watch on our Instagram page.

Participating in Art Kyiv Fair was a significant milestone and an enriching experience for the CUTOUT COLLAGE team. During the fair, we sold some of the works on display, gave a series of interviews to journalists from around the world, and established many new contacts. We are sincerely grateful to everyone who visited our booth and supported our initiative.
